Sample B
Spend one week having a Learn to Sail a Yacht Holiday as part of a flotilla, and one week ashore in a self catering apartment on Murter Island. The use of a Day Sailing Boat (Drascombe Luggar or equivalent) for three days during the apartment week is included. These days must be taken together and usually are from Sunday to Tuesday, or Wednesday to Friday. Anybody arriving on a Wednesday and having a day boat will have it from Thursday to Saturday.
In all cases the yachts must be taken from Saturday to Saturday, with check in to the yacht from 1700hrs and check out by 0900hrs. There is however no sailing on the Saturday so any flight arrival time can be used. You sail from the Sunday morning and arrive back in the base marina on the Friday afternoon so a sailing week consists of six sailing days and seven nights. Apartments are normally also from Saturday to Saturday, but Wednesday arrivals can be accommodated. This allows for more flexible ten or eleven day holidays, and many families choose to avail of Wednesday flights from the UK or Ireland, which are often a lot cheaper than on Saturdays, especially during peak season. The prices below are all based on sailing on a 31ft yacht (Elan 31 or First 305) and staying in self-catering apartments at either Jasnas or Brancas apartments in Murter. These apartments are either one or two bedroom units and suitable for between three to six people
During the sailing week the instructor lives on board the yacht with you for the week and normally takes one of the main saloon berths while you have the two cabins plus the other saloon berth. This layout makes these yachts ideal for groups of three or four, or families of five, where there are younger children. Larger yachts are available for bigger groups or anybody wanting more cabins. Please contact the office for prices on this. It is also possible (subject to availablity) to arrange for the instructor not to sleep on board at night. To facilitate this we then have to keep a place free on an alternative tuition yacht for the week and so there is a surcharge of between £250 and £350 for this for the week, depending on the time of the season.

In addition to the above there is an on site cash payment of £120/165€ for security deposit insurance, and yacht charter tax and fue, and IYT log books and certification for two. All on board provisioning and all mooring and National park entry fees are extras to be paid on site. As a guide for the latter you can expect these to be somewhere in the region of a total of £75 to £125 (100€ to 160€) for the sailing week depending on the number of marinas used. On board provisioning is from local shops and markets as you go along with most groups choosing to eat in local restaurants in the evenings. |
